Spider Plant - Chlorophytum Comosum
One of my most highly recommended houseplants. It is easy to care for, forgiving to neglect, and reproduces like crazy! You will see long, leggy stalks appear with baby spider plants at the end. These babies are called offsets and can be plucked and planted as stand-alone plants once their roots reach about an inch long. Spider plants prefer low to moderate light, moderate watering, and medium humidity. Having well-drained soil is key to preventing root rot. However, they bounce back easily if not cared for perfectly. On top of all that, they are pet-friendly. They are native to tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia. I have both the ‘Vittatum’ and ‘Bonnie’ varieties, just as easy to care for and propagate but with slightly different appearances.
