Majesty Palm - Ravenea Rivularis

Just about anyone can find this plant very cheap at their local hardware store. However, I advise against this plant purchase almost every time. This is primarily because of the plant's constant need for humidity. You may not notice this need immediately but most Majesty Palms won’t live over a year indoors without it. Being that this environment is so hard to reproduce indoors I usually say just avoid it. This plant is native to Madagascar and is typically found along river banks. They received their name for their large majestic leaves. They do grow rather tall and make a striking house plant. I would recommend the Parlor Palm over this plant every time.
