Fiddle Leaf Fig - Ficus Lyratta

A favorite of many houseplant enthusiasts because of the large, dramatic leaves. It is native to the tropics of Africa and Asia. The Fiddle Leaf Fig likes bright indirect light, moderate watering, and high humidity. They suffer from root rot easily resulting in brown spots on the leaves, the beginnings of which can be seen to the right. I highly recommend you steer clear of this houseplant. The Fiddle Leaf Fig is known for being extremely fickle and green thumb is a prerequisite for this particular plant. The plant does best when regularly rotated, which helps to promote even growth. However, it does not tolerate moving locations well. Once the plant settles in a spot with good light and consistent watering it will thrive. But until then - good luck! My Fiddle Leaf Fig is over 5 feet tall, but I have killed many figs in the process. The best way to propagate is by stem cutting.
